Bill Simmons Bruins game 177x214 Bill Simmons takes time out of Grantland project to attend Bruins game

Last night, ESPN’s Bill Simmons was spotted in the front row of the Bruins-Canucks game by photographers. Now, normally, this wouldn’t be worth talking about. However, there are two things at issue here.

1) Simmons’ big project, Grantland.com, launched yesterday which makes you wonder how he had time for a cross-country flight

2) He is, admittedly, a casual Bruins fan who has repeatedly given up on them over the years (he didn’t even know what time the last game started)

It’s this second point that was hilariously addressed by our friends at Barstool Boston:

One night he doesn’t know what time the game starts and the next night he’s sitting in the front row at his first game of the year. Perfect. Listen love him or hate him you got to admit this is the type of shit that people around here hate. Flying across the country to sit in the best seats, when you don’t live here, you haven’t gone to a B’s game in a decade, you haven’t watched the playoffs and suddenly your right smack dab in the middle of it. Kind of makes you want to puke a little bit. He’s become exactly the the type of Hollywood Fan he used to make fun of back in the day.

Ouch! Seems Bostonians aren’t real thrilled with a front-running “Sports Guy”.

What'd you think of this?
