You should probably bench Brandon Marshall in your fantasy league
Brandon Marshall has a surprise for Monday Night Football this week. No, he doesn’t plan on setting any kind of receiving records or busting out a new touchdown dance. No sir, Marshall’s too special for that. Instead, the Dolphins wide receiver plans on getting booted from the game.
“My goal is to get thrown out midway through the second quarter,” Marshall said.
He mentioned that objective four times during a 12-minute interview session. When asked if he was joking, Marshall said no.
“I’m serious. They want to fine me, it’ll probably be like a $50,000 fine. But I’m going to play. That quarter and half I’m out there, I’m going to play like a monster.”
I won’t claim to know the ins and outs of Marshall’s personality disorder so if this kind of statement is directly related to that, my sincere apologies.
Otherwise, I have no explanation as to why someone would want to get fined and kicked out of a game. I expect he’ll get a stern talking to in the next few days from Dolphins coaches and perhaps even, a small note from Mr. Goodell.
Premeditated ejections weren’t exactly covered in the new collective bargaining agreement.
