California HS team with miracle final play

I’ll spare you the “band on the field” reference and just declare this, “The Encino Miracle”. Crespi Carmelite found themselves tied with Notre Dame in a California HS game 28-28 on Friday night. Instead of kneeling the ball on their own 34-yard line, they decided for one last desperate attempt at the end zone.

What’s even more amazing is that at halftime of this game, Crespi trailed 28-7 and scored 27 unanswered points for the win. And yes, we checked, Frank Reich’s son was not on the roster.

Incredibly, Notre Dame had several shots to end the game but ended up missing four relatively easy tackles on the last play. It’s as if the “curse of the Irish” is spreading far beyond South Bend these days. Personally, I blame Brian Kelly….and Touchdown Jesus.

What'd you think of this?
