Jennifer Jones 309x181 Canadians choose hot female curlers over NHL

In a head to head battle between curling and the NHL, surprisingly, the former came out on top. It probably helps that the curlers in question are actually quite attractive and are some of the more popular athletes in Canada.

Viewership peaked at more than 1.1 million for the Overton-Clapham’s game-sealing final shot.

It’s the third highest rating for a round robin game in tournament history, and more than the Edmonton/Colorado NHL game that night, which drew an average 492,000.

What made the match even more exciting is that the two are bitter rivals. In fact, as captain of Team Canada, Jennifer Jones let go of the very popular Overton-Clapham last April which raised eyebrows for curling fans around the country. But Overton got her revenge beating Jones and her teammates 8-5. And while I’d love to tell you the details of the match, my knowledge of curling is limited to “wow, they pushed that rock out of the circle with those funny brooms”.

So forgive me curling fans. As an olive branch to our male curling groupies, here’s some pics of Jennifer Jones.
