Caroline Wozniacki was not beat up by a kangaroo
In a matter of a few days, Caroline Wozniacki went from giving boring press conferences to telling tall tales of kangaroos beating her up. If you recall last week, Wozniacki came into the media session after an early round win and began to spice things up because she had heard rumors that she wasn’t very exciting. Well, over the weekend, Wozniacki really spiced things up by telling reporters that a scratch she had on her leg was caused by a kangaroo at the park.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: {…] Well, the other day I went to the park and I saw this kangaroo lying there. If you’ve seen, I’m playing with the thing on my shin here. It was lying there. So I wanted to go over and help it out. As I went over to it, it just started to be aggressive and it actually cut me. So I think that’s pretty exciting. But I learned my lesson and I just started running away. [...]
[...] Q. It was a baby?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: It wasn’t big. It was a baby. I just wanted to help it out. I found out that I shouldn’t do that.
Q. Scratch you pretty good?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, it scratched me pretty well. That’s why I’m playing with this tape on my shin.
So yea, that story was untrue as the cute Dane took to her Twitter account to alert everyone that there weren’t rogue marsupials running around down under.
Round 2 with the media:) hope you enjoyed my kangaroo story, hope you know i was just kidding:) see you on tuesday for round 3!
Apparently, some in the Australian media didn’t take kindly to the joke and Wozniacki actually had to issue an apology. Damn sensitive Aussies.
