Chase Budinger will dabble in beach vollleyball again
Houston Rockets forward Chase Budinger is taking to his talents to a different court. While many of his fellow NBA players are headed overseas to stay in shape while the league is in lockout, he’s headed to the beach volleyball court.
Budinger entered the Corona Light Wide Open beach volleyball tournament with Dane Jensen this weekend. It should be noted that Budinger isn’t your run of the mill player either. In 2006, he was the Mizuno National Player of the Year.
“Volleyball has always been a passion of mine, and it has been great to get back out on the beach and train,” Budinger said in a statement. “I’m really excited about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to seeing how my skills match up against some of the top players.”
And just to prove we weren’t lying about how good Budinger was. Here he is in high school, spiking a ball with some serious authority, and sending it into the stands.
