A sign of the times; NBA players unloading their homes
With no ending in sight for the NBA lockout, you’ll undoubtedly hear tales of players not being able to “feed their families.” A line made famous by former star Latrell Sprewell during contract negotiations in 2004.
Some have begun making their mass exodus to teams overseas in order to keep themselves in shape, and you know, because of the steady income. One player in particular, Delonte West, picked up a side job at a furniture store because he was so hard up for the cash.
Others are in a more precarious financial situation with their real estate ventures. Take, for example, Corey Maggette who spent eight years in Los Angeles playing for the Clippers. After being shuffled around to a few teams, Maggette now finds himself in Charlotte. His $1.8 million dollar home in L.A., however, still needs tending to.
So if you’re in the market for a four-bedroom, six-bath, Mediterranean style palatial estate with a private garage, give Corey’s real estate agent a call. They’re willing to wheel and deal, in part, because of the economy and because the seller may or may not have had an obsession with Batman (pictures below).
