Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant refuses to carry Roy Williams’ pads
Rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant broke tradition by refusing to carry a veteran’s pads. That veteran, incessant whiner Roy Williams may lose his starting job to Bryant in the upcoming weeks–making this situation even more uncomfortable than it already is.
Williams, who was the #7 overall pick in 2004 for the Lions had this to say after the incident:
“No matter if you’re a No. 1 pick or the 7,000th pick, you’ve still got to do something when you’re a rookie,” Williams said.
The Cowboys having troubles before the season even starts? Wow, I’m shocked. Less than two years ago owner Jerry Jones called Williams a “game-breaker” and thought he was a long-term solution for a departing Terrell Owens.
Um, that was a misstep. That trade from the Lions represented the only time in league history where they got the better of someone.
