Utah Jazz All-Star point guard Deron Williams has been traded to the New Jersey Nets for Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and two future 1st round draft picks. This move comes only weeks after the Jazz let go of long-time head coach Jerry Sloan, allegedly because of problems with the malcontent point guard. The move also comes on the heels of the Nets losing the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes to their rival, the New York Knicks.

Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, who just yesterday was chastised by many fans and media for coming up short on Anthony, seems to have redeemed himself with this deal. Financially, the organization is now in great shape to make several moves for free agents in 2012–that is, assuming the NBA isn’t locked out.
