Guyism investigation: Did ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tell Hope Solo to tone down her outfits?

Hope Solo week 1 Guyism investigation: Did Dancing with the Stars tell Hope Solo to tone down her outfits?

Last Tuesday, U.S. soccer star Hope Solo spoke about her experience on Dancing with the Stars with Anderson Cooper. Judging from her comments, she won’t be invited back for the 10-year reunion.

“I was very naive going into it,” she explained. “It is very much reality television I think from day one they casted our characters. And we would be rehearsing for seven hours a day. Maks and I were great friends and we had an endearing relationship. The 45 minutes in the whole seven hours that were the most frustrating where I am curing and kicking walls is what America got to see.”

She went on to say that judges and perhaps some of the producers on the show were critical of her body type.

“I was told I had too much muscle and I was too intense and wasn’t dainty,”

A rather interesting comment, especially given how the flabby Nancy Grace somehow made her way deep into the show (I hate you America). It’s now a wonder whether DWTS asked Solo to tone down her attire in an attempt to hide her muscular frame.

Here’s a brief look back at every single one of her outfits on the show. What do you think?

I’m no fashionista but it appears Solo’s clothing went from “revealing” to “1950s mom” in a matter of a few episodes. Her six pack, which was on display for ABC viewers in the first show was covered up by a sweater not long after.

Prudes.
