Dominique Wilkins attacked by man who says he owes him money

NBA Hall of Famer and current Atlanta Hawks executive Dominique Wilkins was attacked after the Hawks-Magic game last night. The man, Rashan S. Michel, was arrested and taken into custody but not before he got his shots in on Wilkins and a nearby security guard. Later on, he tweeted “I call what happened at Philips Arena earlier, Operation Repo…next time have my money!”

In a Thursday morning interview with the Frank and Wanda Morning Show on V-103, Michel claimed Wilkins hit him first, cohost Frank Ski told the AJC.

“He said he was approaching Dominique because Dominique owed him about $13,000 and wasn’t paying for the suits, but the security guard grabbed him and after that Dominique punched him first, and he responded,” Ski said, recapping the interview.

Judging from the mangled face of Michel, it appears Wilkins got the best of him in the altercation.

More importantly though, I want to know about these suits. I mean, $13k is a lot of money unless it’s Italian silk and unless Nique is sporting this fine number on a daily basis, I’d have to say he got the butt end of the deal.

Either way, this is a black eye for the organization. You simply can’t have your vice-president brawling with people in their place of employment. Unless, of course, this is a cheap version of the WWE. And if that’s the case, well, a hell of an acting job by both men.
