Dwyane Wade has certainly made solid choices on the court. But his greatest career and life decision may have come off the court recently. In the days of paparazzi hiding in every nook and cranny, Wade decided that being spotted in public with a member of the Gotti family probably wasn’t in his best interests.

“Carmine Gotti, the grandson of the late John Gotti was celebrating his birthday upstairs and was excited to hear Wade was downstairs. He headed down and asked to meet Wade, who responded, ‘There’s no way I’m meeting the Gotti’s or having my photo taken with them.’

Considering the Gotti name is synonymous with organized crime and you know, that whole Tim Donaghy gambling mess with the Mob, I’m guessing it’s the last place any NBA player wants to be pictured. Actually, wait, I take that back. The last place a NBA player wants their picture is on some blog with their dong hanging out but that’s a whole other story isn’t it Mr. Oden?

By the way, after Wade told the Gotti’s in no uncertain terms to F-off, he got the hell out of dodge. Yet another smart life decision.
