Erin Andrews peephole stalker gets 30 month sentence

Michael Barrett, the man who secretly taped Erin Andrews and many other women in their hotel rooms was sentenced to 30 months in prison yesterday. A federal judge in L.A. also ordered that Barrett pay over 7,000 dollars in restitution to Andrews.

Andrews spoke to a group of reporters after the sentence was handed down.

She’s entirely right about the video never disappearing from the internet. In fact, this morning on google trends, the peephole video was a top 10 search term. Either there are people out there who still want to see the video or there are people who have no idea who Erin Andrews is. After having a conversation with a few less than internet savvy people this weekend, it amazed me how many of them weren’t aware of the video or of how popular she is. Then again, my parents shouldn’t really be the standard by which we judge “popularity on the internet”. They’re still amazed by typewriters and calculators.

What'd you think of this?
