Female boxer Christy Martin stabbed and shot by her husband

Arguably, the most famous female boxer of all-time, Christy Martin, was stabbed and shot by her husband Tuesday night.

Christy Martin, 42, flagged down a motorist near Apopka’s Deer Lake subdivision about 6:45 p.m. The motorist took her to Florida Hospital North, where doctors determined that she had been shot and stabbed in the torso and left leg

Martin was conscious when deputies arrived at the hospital and was able to tell deputies that her attacker was her husband, 66-year-old James Martin.

Details are still scarce at the moment but it appears James Martin is on the run. Authorities went to the Martin home but he had already fled the scene.

There’s been no updated information on Christy Martin’s health at this point. The 42-year old boxer who has a 49-5-3 record, has not fought since winning the WBC Women’s Super Welterweight title on September 9th of last year.
