Former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister is broke; living with his parents
Seven years after signing a $55 million dollar contract, former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister claims he is broke. TMZ obtained court documents from a child support case with his ex-wife Marlene that shows McCallister living with his parents.
Ouch.
In the docs, Chris — a 1st round NFL draft pick in 1999 who played in the league for 10 years — states, “I have been unemployed since 2009. I have no income.”
He adds, “I live in my parent’s home. My parents provide me with my basic living expenses as I do not have the funds to do so.”
Now, in fairness, the Ravens cutMcAlister in February of 2009, so he didn’t receive the entirety of that contract. That said, he still received a good portion of it making $5.5 million in 2005, $6.5 million in 2007, and $8.0 million in 2008.
I’m guessing McAlister didn’t exactly have stern financial principles, or, you know, put money away in a piggy bank somewhere.
Of course, all of this is moot if the dude’s just lying and wants to get out of paying child support. Which, unfortunately, is a real possibility.
