Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati hospitalized after apparent overdose

Jennifer Capriati, the former #1 female tennis player in the world and winner of 3 grand slam titles, was reportedly hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose.

Via the ever watching eyes of TMZ:

…the call came from a hotel in Riviera Beach, FL. Capriati was transported to a nearby hospital.

TMZ spoke with Jennifer’s father who tells us she’s recovering well.

At best, the details are a bit sketchy. Capriati however, has battled a number of problems since turning pro at 14. She was arrested for shoplifting in 1993 and drug possession in 1994.

She has not played professionally since 2004 but has considered a comeback despite recurring knee injuries.
