Gilbert Arenas is not so merry around the holidays

It hasn’t been a very good stretch for Gilbert Arenas the last few years. Although, you could argue that his trade to the Orlando Magic recently at least put him in a position to win an NBA championship. Off the court though? Well, Gilbert hasn’t been playing nice with his fiancee or his three kids around the holidays.
In fact, you could probably say he’s been a bit of a Grinch.
Govan, who is four months pregnant with their fourth child, “has not heard from Arenas the whole month of December,” said publicist Laura Wright in an e-mailed statement. “Govan and the children feel like they have been abandoned.”
Wright – who has worked for Govan’s sister Gloria and her fiance, Los Angeles Lakers forward Matt Barnes – said that Govan was left at their Great Falls home “with no money to purchase food or Christmas gifts.”
Ouch! I realize that the statement is from Govan’s publicist so it’s probably a bit slanted but I’m not sure how Arenas can spin that in a positive way for himself. I do wonder though why somebody who couldn’t afford food or Christmas gifts somehow has enough money to afford a publicist.
I’m thinking her salary alone could probably get the kids some Tonka trucks, some fruitcake and eggnog. Possibly even a toy basketball.
