Gina Carano to star in new action flick, ‘In the Blood’

Gina Carano’s days on the silver screen may not be over just yet. Despite a terrible showing in the box office for her inaugural movie Haywire, the former MMA star has already been cast in a new film–In the Blood. A movie that will surely portray Carano’s superior acting and not her ability to kick some ass.
Described as being in the vein of Taken, Blood is set in motion when a husband disappears while vacationing in the Caribbean with his wife, to be played by Carano. The grieving wife passionately and recklessly pursues the men whom she believes kidnapped and killed him. Bennett Yellin and James Robert Johnston wrote the script.
With Carano starring in a new movie so quickly, her days as an MMA fighter are almost certainly over. She was teetering on the edge of fighter-obscurity as it stands, this news just plummets it into the abyss. Sad really. She was a great fighter but more so, a great entertainer. Something she will never be as an actress.
