Elliot Saltman 135x95 Golfer makes hole in one; wins body weight in ham

One time, on a dare, a friend tried to complete the 9-inning, 9 hot dog, 9 beer challenge. The sheer quantity of liquid and pork proved too much for him (and his stomach) as he failed the mission.

For golfer Elliot Saltman, the “9″ challenge would be a cakewalk compared to what he’ll be eating the next few months. After making a hole-in-one at the Madrid Masters, Saltman was awarded his body weight in ham. No, not a car or a cash prize or a trip to Ibiza, but 240 pounds of sweet, succulent pig.

SOO WEE!

Saltman’s ace came at El Encin’s 204-yard third hole and it earned the 29-year-old Scot his weight in Iberico ham. Weighing in at 240 lbs, Saltman can look forward to dining out on his prize, worth more than 8,000 euros ($10,722), for some weeks.

“This is going to last me until next Christmas, never mind this one,” Saltman told Reuters. “I’ve been trying to lose some weight but I’m glad now I’ve not lost that much.”

In much less exciting but related news, Saltman missed the cut. What he won’t be missing anytime soon? Dinner.
