Heat eliminate Celtics in five games
The Celtics were hoping for one last run at a title, one more chance to hoist that NBA championship trophy like so many other Boston teams had before them. But injuries to Rajon Rondo and Shaq, plus an aging lineup proved to be too much to overcome. It didn’t help that their opponent had arguably two of the top five players in in the NBA. And they certainly played like that for most of the series too, especially in last night’s affair, scoring 67 of the team’s 97 points.
For a majority of the year, there was a question as to who on the Miami Heat would take over at the end of games. Both Wade and LeBron struggled to make shots in crunch time at different points in the season. Last night, however, James scored the games last 10 points en route to a 16-0 run that effectively put the proverbial nail in the coffin for the Celtics era. Now the Heat wait for the winner of the Bulls-Hawks series, a series they will certainly be favored in.
On a side note, this Wade no-look basket was easily the highlight of the night.
