Herschel Walker is half-man, half-machine
For years, Herschel Walker’s workout regimen have been legendary–they also have been somewhat unorthodox. Walker admitted years ago that he never lifted weights, opting instead to do countless push-ups, sit-ups, and medicine ball training.
At now at 48-years old, Walker is readying himself for his second MMA bout.
At 5:30 a.m., Walker wakes up to do 750 to 1,500 push-ups and about 2,000 sit-ups.
He eats once a day, skipping breakfast and lunch. After a long, intense day of training, he eats salad and bread for dinner. He doesn’t care for meat or fuss about getting enough protein. Walker’s a vegetarian.
“It’s a mindset — something I’ve been doing for a long time,” he said. “I don’t worry about protein. I don’t worry about all that. I’m from old school. I grew up in south Georgia. They didn’t worry about cholesterol or protein. They went out and worked and lived a long time, so I don’t put a lot of worries in my mind. I just get it done.”
And here I thought P90x made me some kind of freak. I can maybe crank out 100 push-ups…and that’s on a good day. Although after finishing, I can tell you that “salad and bread” would not suffice.
The article later goes on to describe how Walker can go days without eating because he’s simply not hungry. But all the while he keeps training like there is nothing wrong.
Really? Is that even possible? Somebody needs to take a closer looks at Herschel’s DNA. I’m beginning to think the guy is a real-life Terminator.
