Hottie golfer Melissa Reid bit by snake during tourney
As a weekend hacker, I often find myself underneath pines and wading in ponds at least once or twice a round. Thankfully, in the great outdoors that is Detroit, Michigan the most dangerous creature residing on the golf course are those menacing Canadian geese whose main purpose amounts to taking huge craps on the green.
In other places in the world however, dangerous beasts lie in the weeds…literally. European tour golfer Melissa Reid found herself in a swampy area at the Sanya Ladies Open in China last weekend. And wouldn’t you know, a damn snake jumped and bit her.
“We were on the 16th and Mel said, ‘Oh my God, Lee, I’ve been bitten by a snake!’” said her caddie, Lee Griffiths.
“It was about six foot long and jumped at her out of the grass from behind a drain. I saw its fangs and I said, ‘I can see it’s bitten you because you’re bleeding.’
“We had reassurance from the green-keeper that it’s not deadly. We were taking the cut through behind the 12th green and it’s a little swampy down there.”
With all due respect to the Chinese version of Carl Spackler, I’d take what he says with a grain of MSG. A greens-keeper does not make you an expert zoologist sir. Go fix a damn gopher hole and respectfully, shut the f$%# up.
On a side note in all of this we’ve discovered that Melissa Reid is sorta hot, although, some have questioned her skimpy attire during play. Thankfully on Guyism, we’re not as judgmental.
