HS football team hazing included hitting somebody with a pool noodle

A Detroit area high school football team has fired two assistant coaches and suspended five players because of a hazing incident last week. The incident allegedly occurred during a team dinner at one of the coach’s homes. Details are sparse but students and administrators seem to agree that one younger player was tied to a tree or pole and “beaten”. We use the term beaten here lightly because according to one parent at the school, the kid was hit with a…wait for it….pool noodle.

Yes, two people lost their jobs and kids were suspended for a playoff game because somebody was struck with a 4-foot long piece of foam.

Hazing can certainly be a serious issue, especially the stories the last few years that involve tea bagging, broomsticks and other forms of sodomy. But in this case, it appears this was nothing more than a joke blown way out of proportion by overzealous school administrators.

And, as the reporter said, the player was able to return to school in reasonably good health. Nah really? He was able to recover from a brutal pool noodle beating?

Dam, kid’s a warrior.
