Jack Nicklaus says Tiger Woods won’t suck forever
Don’t worry Tiger Woods, that record you’ve been chasing for the entirety of your adulthood, it’s still in play says Jack Nicklaus. Though the two haven’t spoken since last June, Nicklaus still believes Woods’ work ethic will win out in the end.
“I still think he’ll break my record,” Nicklaus said Wednesday before playing a round in the Honda Classic pro-am. “I’m surprised that he has not bounced back by now. He’s got such a great work ethic. He’s so determined to what he wants to do.”
Nicklaus said he hasn’t talked to Woods since last June, and that conversation was brief.
“He got maybe off the track, but I think he’s really a principled kid,” Nicklaus said. “Did he have some wayward … ? Yes. But are we all perfect? No.”
That’s all fine and dandy Mr. Nicklaus, and I doubt there is anyone in the golf world who doesn’t respect what you have to say–but Tiger Woods has no confidence right now. It doesn’t help that sex to him was the equivalent of Samson’s hair. Once you lose it, it’s over, your invincibility is gone.
Most of those guys on tour used to fear Woods. He’d win tournaments on his name alone as guys would choke on Sundays. Now, well now, Tiger is the one choking.
He needs to go on a Charlie Sheen like bender with a couple of hookers to get himself back into playing shape. Otherwise, his run at the majors record will fall short.
