Jahvid Best, who suffered his second concussion of the year in Sunday’s loss to the 49ers, has been advised to sit out the rest of the season. The report comes from NFL insider and CBSSports.com writer Mike Freeman.
Lions RB Jahvid Best has been advised by people close to him to “strongly consider sitting out the year” after suffering his second concussion of the season. As Freeman noted, Best was forced to miss the final four games of his college career due to concussion-like symptoms. Speculation is that further concussion issues could wreck his career.
With the Ronnie Brown trade now null and void, the Lions are in desperate need of help in the backfield. Jerome Harrison, who was supposed to solidify the position after rookie Mikel Leshoure went down, has not panned out.
The team may look to their practice squad now as James Davis, an undrafted free agent from Clemson, signed with the Lions yesterday.
