Janko Tipsarevic has diarrhea of the mouth about women’s tennis
Janko Tipsarevic is a moderately successful pro tennis player with some rather strong views about his counterparts in the women’s game. When asked whether men and women deserved equal pay, Tipsarevic responded quite crudely.
“Men’s tennis is currently in the top four in terms of quality and popularity, it’s at its peak, just like golf when Tiger Woods dominated,” Tipsarevic said. “In women’s tennis it’s very different. I do not underestimate the achievements of Victoria Azarenka and the others, but their best time is over. That was when the Williams sisters, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin and Amelie Mauresmo were at the top. I wouldn’t say a good junior could beat Serena 6-1, 6-2, but it is ridiculous that women get equal prize money at the Grand Slams.”
The 28-year-old Serbian is currently ranked number 8 in the world and has 3 titles to his credit. His performances in Grand Slams have been very ho-hum with a quarterfinal appearance at last year’s U.S. Open.
Aside from that, his biggest claim to fame (outside of being Novak Djokovic’s best friend) is his smokin’ hot wife, Biljana Sesevic.
You may wonder why I’m not addressing his comments, why I conveniently ignored the “a good junior could beat Serena 6-1, 6-2″ line. Well for starters, he’s a moron. He’s run his mouth several times before about the women’s game, calling many of them ugly, accusing Amélie Mauresmo of being a pervert and saying fellow Serb Ana Ivanovic looked like a “truck on steroids.”
Someone clearly wasn’t loved as a child and/or was not breastfed long enough.
So, basically, do us all a favor and shut up.
