jimmy clausen Jimmy Clausen gets two black eyes in bar fight

If you thought things couldn’t get worse at Notre Dame these days, well, you were wrong. Starting quarterback Jimmy Clausen was involved in a fight early Sunday morning at a South Bend bar. And it appears he got the worst of it.

According to Kaplan, Clausen has two black eyes from the altercation at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The incident comes on the heels of the Irish’s overtime loss to Connecticut, their fifth of the season, leaving Notre Dame at 6-5.

ESPN is referencing the fight as an irate fan who sucker punched Clausen. But that raises an interesting question….

What the hell was Jimmy doing eating with his parents at a bar at 2:30 in the morning? Did the 4 letter network not bother to ask their source this question.

To top it off, there are several rumors circulating that the fight started when Clausen hit on a guy’s girlfriend and it resulted in two black eyes.

And while that is just conjecture, it fits the profile a bit better. (By the way, I’ve yet to ever hear of a single sucker punch causing two black eyes. Unless of course, it was Mike Tyson dropping that dude in The Hangover.)

As for Charlie Weis, he might as well announce his resignation STAT and avoid the media circus of today’s press conference.
