Former Fab Five standout Jimmy King has joined teammate Jalen Rose in Michigan’s Oakland County Jail. King was arrested Tuesday for failure to pay child support after working a basketball camp in Detroit.

King, who was taken to the Oakland County Jail, owes $17,209 in back child support from 2008-11, Sellek said. He faces up to four years in prison.
“Our goal is to get money that children so desperately need. Our goal is not to place people in jail,” Sellek said. “But sometimes we are forced to go this route to make this happen.”

Just last week, Jalen Rose reported to the same jail to serve a 20-day DUI sentence. I’m not aware of the kinds of physical activities inmates at Oakland County Jail are allowed, but I imagine that the pick-up basketball games just got a hell of a lot more interesting. Although, I’m fairly certain that black socks aren’t typical prison garb these days.
