Joe Frazier dies 135x95 Joe Frazier dies at 67

Smokin’ Joe Frazier, whose left hook was one of the most devastating in boxing history, passed away at the age of 67. Frazier had been placed in hospice care just recently after being diagnosed with liver cancer.

Frazier remains one of the best heavyweight champions of all-time with a career that spanned 10 years and saw him successfully defend his crown four times. He fought in an age of heavyweights that included George Foreman and of course, his archrival, Muhammad Ali–all four of his professional losses were to those two men.

But it’s the Ali fights that people will remember most about the former champ–specifically ‘The Fight of the Century’ and ‘Thrilla in Manila.’

Here’s the first fight in it’s entirety. If you enjoy old-time boxing as much as I do, it’s a must-watch.

And here, in my opinion, is perhaps the most brutal match I’ve ever seen, the ‘Thrilla in Manila.

What'd you think of this?
