rudy 274x214 Joe Montana says the movie “Rudy” was only partially true

Legendary NFL quarterback Joe Montana went on the Dan Patrick show yesterday and blasted former teammate Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger. In the final play of Ruettiger’s senior season with the Fighting Irish, he recorded a sack and was ultimately carried off the field by his teammates. Joe Montana claims however that it was all done in jest.

I won’t say it was a joke, but it was playing around

Montana’s recollection of the events is now being disputed by another 1975 Notre Dame player, Jay Achterhoff, who told TMZ:

“Rudy was carried off the field that day … but not as a joke — but because he finally got to play. You’ve never in your life seen a guy who wanted to be on the field more.”

What does this all mean? Well, not to mince words here but Joe Montana is a straight up a-hole. Even if he recalled the events differently or if for some reason he didn’t like the guy, why dredge this up 35 years later?

Sounds like someone is a little butthurt that they weren’t the ones carried off the field.

What'd you think of this?
