When Patrick Patterson’s mom saw the press release that her son was leaving for the NBA, she was surprised. He hadn’t said a word yet to her nor anybody else about it.

She believes that both Kentucky and John Calipari used the press release that 5 Kentucky players were leaving to garner interest from potential recruits.

Color me shocked that Calipari would be involved in something shady like this. His history certainly indicated otherwise that the student-athlete was and will always be his first concern.

“Me personally, I think it is Cal’s way to get recruits to commit and wants to make sure they know John (Wall), DeMarcus (Cousins), Daniel (Orton) and Eric (Bledsoe) are gone along with Patrick,” Tywanna Patterson said. “Pat didn’t know they were sending that statement out tonight.”

Again, it’s only a matter of time before Calipari gets caught again and/or the Kentucky fan base gets sick of him. It’s fine to use “one and dones” if you actually have success with him, but if you’re losing before the Final Four with NBA caliber players you’re going to have problems with the Wildcat faithful.
