John Elways flies out to visit Peyton Manning

John Elway led a contingent of Broncos brass to North Carolina this morning in an attempt to woo free agent extraordinaire Peyton Manning. Yes, while Tim Tebow cures kids with cancer, the Broncos are out looking for a new quarterback.

That moment Elway and Tebow shared after the Steelers playoff victory? Yea, that’s gone.

Anyways, it appears Manning is down to two teams—the aforementioned Broncos and the Titans. Apparently, the Titans put a full-court press on offering him a lifetime contract, which, to Peyton, is hard to beat. Especially considering his repeated neck injuries over the last year.

That being said, the Broncos are in a position to win now–something he values above anything else.

Who will it be in the end? If I was a betting man, I’d go with John Elway. Admittedly though, I’m a bit biased as Manning to Denver will create some of the best, most insane controversy we’ll ever see in sports.
