Kentucky should probably put those #1 shirts away for awhile

They might be having a hell of a year but a game against un-ranked South Carolina spoiled a perfect season for the Kentucky Wildcats last night. Fresh off the heels of their #1 ranking, the Wildcats received a call from President Obama yesterday thanking them for raising 1 million for Haiti relief. He also warned them of the impending dangers of being ranked as the top team.

But apparently, this is one of those cases of “Commander-in-Chief talking, nobody listening”. You know, like the State of the Union.

Anyways, if you’re not familiar with the the exploits of South Carolina’s Devan Downey, you’re missing out. Not only did he drop 30 points on the Cats last night but he also ripped out this hilarious line about Obama.

Obama, though, also thought — like most everybody else who follows the game — that the Wildcats would have little trouble with undermanned South Carolina.

“Yeah, I’m aware of it, but I’m kind of scared to mention something about this president,” Downey joked. “I don’t want anybody knocking at my door. I don’t have anything to say about Obama.”

Well, at least we know what side of the political aisle Downey leans towards.

As for Kentucky, it might be a good idea to be ranked #1 for more than a day before you start making t-shirts. Especially since you can’t get them delivered until a few days later.

Ouch!
