Now that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are firmly in place in South Beach, oddsmakers have solidified them as the overwhelming favorites for next years’ title. Better than 2-to-1 favorites to be exact.

At this point though, those three may be taking on teams all by themselves. Hours after LeBron made the decision, the Heat sent their 2008 draft pick Michael Beasley to the Timberwolves for virtually nothing in return to clear cap space. As it stands now, the only other player under contract for the Heat is Mario Chalmers.

While I’m sure Miami doesn’t plan to take teams on 4 on 5, some nights may seem like that. For backcourt help, they are looking at the venerable tandem of Keyon Dooling and Jason Williams.

On second thought, maybe playing a man short isn’t that bad of an idea.
