LIVE BLOGGING THE LIONS QUEST FOR 0-16

Today, Guyism will chronicle his day as he watches the Lions game with some die hard fans, frustrated fans, and former season ticket holders.

He’ll gage what, if any hope these fans have for the future.

9:00 A.M.-Many of these fans including myself travel to church for one last ditch effort at divine intervention. Considering that we’ve all tried to invoke the spirit at one time or another during Lions games, its probably worth a shot.

1:07 P.M.-Former season ticket holder Mark says the Lions will win 27-24. I think he had too much egg nog over the holidays. As for me, I think the Lions will be somewhat competitive but will then get blown out in the second half.

1:10 P.M.-The Packers decided to go for it on 4th and 12 and threw about 8 yards short of the stick. Maybe this is the Lions day

2:13 P.M.-After a brief hiatus because of google, we are back. Lions down 14-7 but the 7 Lions fans I’m watching the game with seem optimistic. Calvin Johnson may be the only Lion who could play on another NFL team.

2:21 P.M-A microcosm of the Lions season. Rod Marinelli elected to not use timeouts and let the clock run. As if the Lions had anything to lose. Whether you like Rod Marinelli as a person, you can’t with a straight face tell me he is a good coach. Everybody here believes that Rod should be fired at halftime and the Lions should just pull a Varsity Blues and have Daunte Culpepper coach the second half

2:30 P.M-Insult to injury. The Packers tried a 69 yard free kick with no time remaining in the half and just missed. All because Marinelli mismanaged the clock.

2:41 P.M.-Chris Mortenson reported that Bill Parcells may be leaving the Dolphins and that the LIons are a possibility.

Everybody here has perma-boner. I think I’ll step out of the room until things have calmed down.

2:50 P.M.-Rod Marinelli is a jackass. There is no way Nick Harris should ever see the field today and yet, the Lions didn’t go for it on 4th and 5 from midfield.

Again, who hired this guy?

2:57 P.M-Uh oh….Keep the dream alive. Lions just tied the game at 14 with an absolute sick catch and run by none other than Calvin Johnson

3:08 P.M.-This game is getting pretty intense. Couple of taunting penalties and some fights after the whistle. Dare I say the Lions don’t want to go 0-16.

3:17 P.M.-Ed Hochuli strikes again. Instead of calling Ryan Grant down even though the line judge has called him down, Ed decided to go ahead and give him a touchdown.

Replays show Grant clearly being down.

Review just saved Hochuli from looking like Donaghy

3:44 P.M.-Well, its over. Lions just went down 10 with 8 1/2 minutes to go. We are all pretty dejected here. A small part of us thought the Lions had a miracle in them today. And now, we have to call ourselves fans of the worst team and franchise in the history of the NFL.

3:52 P.M.-Ok, maybe I spoke too soon. Maybe Green Bay is as bad as the Lions. They left John Standeford wide open for a 40-50 yard gain.

And right when I thought the Lions were back in the game, Donald Driver just went 73 yards with a bomb.

4:19 P.M. The dream is a reality. 0 and 16 actually happened. There is some serious drinking going on here.
