Mavs win Game 5; Wade, LeBron mock Dirk’s illness

This was supposed to be the game where the Miami Heat got things back on track. The game where LeBron James solidified himself as the best in the game, the game where he made more than a casual appearance in the 4th quarter. But surprise, surprise, LeBron pulled his best Houdini act yet again, and an “injured” Dwyane Wade simply didn’t have enough to overcome his partner in crime’s futility.

The Mavericks used a late Dirk Nowitzki dunk and a miracle three-point heave from Jason Terry to propel them to a 112-103 victory and one win away from their first ever NBA championship.

The shot from Terry came over, none other than the aforementioned LeBron James, who earlier in the series told a reporter that he was playing great defense.

It’s worth a second look, even if it’s just to pour salt in an open South Beach wound.

To make matters worse for the Heat, there’s this video that aired in Dallas before Game 5 of Wade and LeBron mocking Dirk Nowitzki’s illness. Of course, it was all in good fun but when you lose–yea, you look pretty stupid.

So now, the Heat have their backs firmly against the wall. Who knows how Wade’s hip will hold up with the return trip to Miami but if he’s not 100%, somebody else will have to step up in the 4th quarter. Because, God knows, LeBron doesn’t seem to want that responsibility.

What'd you think of this?
