Let’s ignore for a second that Mike Vick is a fairly despicable human being…And him going bankrupt effects us all very little…
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank Santoro postponed until Friday a decision on whether to approve $1.5 million in legal fees sought by Crowell & Moring, the Madison Avenue law firm representing Vick in the Chapter 11 case. Santoro was astonished that the firm is billing Vick for 8,000 hours of work over about 10 months.
I’m not a mathematician here so maybe somebody can help me out…
There are what, 304 days in 10 months. That’s 7296 hours. Let’s just assume that 1 lawyer worked 25 days a month on this for 10 hours a day (we’re nice, we gave them 5 days off). That’s 250 days and 2500 hours.
Now let’s assume 3 lawyers worked on this the same amount of time.
That’s 7500 hours.
And that still doesn’t reach the 8000 that the firm billed.
So either Michael Vick had some really F’d up finances…And not normal F’d up finances. I’m talking like Al Capone type stuff.
or
That’s an eagerly overzealous firm
