Aside from the fact that breaking a backboard is an impressive feat in high school, it’s the name of the kid who did it that remains the bigger story.
Grand Haven’s Nate VanArendonk….how appropriate
Yea, he’s 6’9″ and though I’m sure he’s as strong as an ox, the dunk wasn’t exceptionally hard. It did, however, require the game to be delayed and moved to a nearby high school.
Grand Haven rode the momentum of the dunk on their way to a 39-36 win.
