Michigan State’s Korie Lucious beats Maryland at the buzzer

MSU’s Korie Lucious hit a three pointer at the buzzer to defeat Maryland and advance to the Sweet 16. It was one of the more remarkable endings of the tournament thus far with several big shots down the stretch. Maryland went on a 10-0 run with less than two minutes remaining to take the lead. But a shorthanded MSU responded with a few clutch shots of their own culminating with this Lucious jumper.

Unfortunately for the Spartans, it looks like All Big Ten guard Kalin Lucas is lost for the season with an apparent Achilles injury. Also on the mend are guard Chris Allen with a sprained arch and Delvon Roe with a meniscus tear. Luckily, MSU is facing the Northern Iowa Panthers and not top seeded Kansas. Though, considering the Panthers’ manhandling of the Jayhawks yesterday, I’m not sure that’s a good thing.
