Mike Cameron Marlins 309x212 Fighting a flight attendant when youre batting .203 is a bad idea

MLB journeyman Mike Cameron is out of a job for a relatively peculiar reason. On a Florida Marlins charter flight from Pittsburgh to Atlanta, Cameron got into it with one of the flight attendants. Although a physical altercation never took place, the incident was serious enough for the company to file a complaint.

The Marlins would not comment on the matter beyond acknowledging Cameron was released for conduct detrimental to the team. Attempts to reach Cameron’s agent Wednesday were unsuccessful…

You have to think performance on the field and age played a big part in letting Cameron go. He’s barely above the Mendoza Line as it is (.203) and at 38, his best years are well behind him.

All that being said, that’s sort of a crappy way to call it a career. Maybe next time he’ll learn that the tune on his iPod probably could have waited until the plane took off.
