Sports fans do a lot of dumb things. Passionate fans that make highly questionable decisions are one of the many reasons people enjoy sports in general. Typically, it’s one or two fans that do something ridiculous, go viral, and the process repeats itself over and over again.

That wasn’t the case at Missouri on Tuesday night after the Tigers lost to Auburn.

Missouri cut the Auburn lead to just one with 35 seconds left to play. Instead of fouling with under 10 seconds left, Missouri simply let the Tigers get a shot up with about five seconds left in regulation. Chaos ensued on the rebound, and the final buzzer sounded.

Missouri fans were obviously upset with how things turned out against the No. 1 team in the land. They weren’t upset about the fact that their team didn’t foul to stop the clock or that head coach Cuonzo Martin clearly forgot how time works down the stretch.

Instead of booing their own team, the logical thing to do here, Mizzou fans decided to start chanting ‘overrated.’

This is legitimately one of the most bizarre scenes in college basketball history.

What in the hell are you doing, Mizzou fans?

It doesn’t matter if the 1996 Bulls just came to town and beat Missouri on a buzzer-beater, you absolutely can not chant ‘overrated’ after your team lost.

This is further proof that Missouri isn’t a fit in the SEC. They haven’t fit in since joining the conference and this embarrassing act from their fanbase shows that the Tigers do not belong. No other fanbase in the SEC would even think of pulling out this stunt.
