MSU linebacker Denicos Allen channels his inner Bobby Boucher

Last Saturday, MSU set a school record with nine sacks en route to their first win over the Buckeyes since 1999. One of those sacks came by way of an incredible athletic play by linebacker Denicos Allen. Facing a 3rd down deep in their own territory, OSU quarterback Joe Bauserman dropped back to pass but was immediately tackled by Allen who jumped over running back Jordan Hall to make the play.

Having seen it live, I tweeted this screen grab as I sat there with my jaw agape (full disclosure, I’m an avid Spartan fan so excuse my overt homerism).

The tackle seemed like something out of a movie, and now, days later, it appears it really was. According to Mark Dantonio, the team watched Waterboy the night prior to the game.

So as much as I’d like to give Allen credit for this, he was simply aping the venerable Bobby Boucher.

And yes, unfortunately that’s Matt Millen calling the game. Obligatory, “something’s wrong with his medulla oblangata”.

What'd you think of this?
