NBC inadvertently cuts “under God” from Pledge of Allegiance

At the beginning of Sunday’s U.S. Open coverage, NBC accidentally cut the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance. Naturally, there was a bit of an uproar from mainstream America–so much so that NBC issued an on-air apology some three hours later.

Call me crazy, but I find it odd that the words that are arguably the most controversial in the Pledge of Allegiance were inadvertently cut out. Truly a mistake or some creative editing? Hmm.
