NFL changes overtime for playoff games

A. Isaac Senior Editor

After years of speculation regarding the changing of overtime rules, team owners finally decided enough was enough, and changed overtime for just playoff games. Those old men are so progressive.

Starting next season, if a team wins the coin toss and then kicks a field goal, the other team gets the ball.

If the game is still tied after that, play will continue under the current sudden-death rules. Should the team winning the toss immediately score a touchdown, then the game is over.

The votes were 28-4 in favor of the change. Just guessing here but the 4 “no” votes more than likely came from Al Davis and 3 other owners who are stupid enough to believe he’s still a sane human being. So basically, throw William Clay Ford of the Detroit Lions into that mix. God knows he hasn’t been on the winning side of a decision since….well, ever.
