Nike shoe release devolves into riot at Florida mall
A. Isaac Last night, hundreds of shoe fanatics waited outside Orlando’s Florida mall for the Nike release of its new Galaxy Foamposities–a shoe that retails for $220. One patron made an early dash for the Foot Locker before the midnight opening, which touched off the mob scene below.
The shoe release was timed for this weekend’s NBA All-Star game as several of the players will wear it. Moreover, the shoe can allegedly resell for almost $3,000 on sites like eBay. So, while I don’t necessarily understand the shoe craze, I do understand those who want to capitalize on such a big money maker.
Not surprisingly, the release was canceled because of the mob scene.

Did I say $3,000 on eBay? I meant, $60,000 ($70k as of 11am). Wow.
