Nobody is happy with the replacement referees

In their first week of football action, the NFL replacement referees received a failing grade. Seemingly no one is pleased with their work, least of all wide receiver Victor Cruz.

During the Giants game Friday night, a punt returner was called for a hold. Something Cruz found utterly astounding.

“That was probably the most mind-boggling one to me, I’m a little concerned because we want to make sure we’re getting the best referees we can. I actually overheard one of the refs saying he only refereed glorified high school games, which I don’t even know what that means.”

I’ll tell you what it means Victor. It means they suck at their job and the best the NFL could do is bring in scrubs who ref Lingerie Football games. As much as we’ve complained about officiating in the past, the U.S. professional leagues represent the creme of the crop, the very best in the world (trust me I watched FIBA officials for two weeks).

If the NFL season starts with these schlubs, I fear the internet may explode with nonsensical fans posting YouTube meltdown videos on YouTube. Actually, you know what, I might enjoy that.
