NOTRE DAME AT MSU PREVIEW

History

MSU is 26-44-1 in the all-time series. But lately it has been in MSUs favor. The Spartans won five straight from 1997-2001 and have alternated road victories since then.

1966

Hard to talk about these two teams without talking about one of the greatest games in College Football History.

The 10-10 tie led both teams to National Championships, although then coach Ara Parseghian took heat for years for sitting on the lead late in the game.

Here’s a clip from the 2nd quarter as MSU takes the lead 7-0.

Charlie Weis

Charlie supposedly has recovered from his disastrous knee injury from last week. Personally, I think he’s full of crap but then again, this is the same man who claimed two years ago that a MSU player slapped him on the sidelines.

Replays showed that no MSU player touched him and in fact, showed Notre Dame Assistant Rick Mirer ripping off the helmet of receiver Matt Trannon. Watch closely in this video at the 1:10 mark as Weis personally tells the official he was hit.

The result of the play was off-setting personal fouls.

All because Weis lied.

Great catholic institution I tell ya.

2005

After assuring victory at home, Charlie Weis decided that his team did not need to bring the Megaphone Trophy to the game. After Jason Teague took one into the endzone in OT, several of the MSU players who were upset that the trophy was not brought, planted a MSU flag at about the 35. The “Flag Plant” caused high drama in college football and even caused Lou Holtz to call it the most classless thing he’s ever seen.

This coming from a man who regularly gave his players steroids, left several institutions high and dry, and even has some people hate him so much they are willing to spit in his face

Your Quarterback looks gay

Brian Hoyer may not be that good of a quarterback but thank again he doesn’t pose in speedos….

You might have a higher institution of learning, but we have hotter women

Prediction

MSU is the better team and in my opinion has a better coach. Whatever momentum the Irish gained from their glorious win over UM will end sometime in the first quarter when they realize they are playing their first real opponent this year.

Sorry, those Aztecs of San Diego State really aren’t that tough. They did lose to Cal Poly after all.

I see MSU dominating the line of scrimmage and if they can somehow get some pressure, those long pass plays that Notre Dame is capable of will never unfold.

MSU 35
Notre Dame 14

What'd you think of this?
