O.J. Murdock suicide O.J. Murdock, Titans wide receiver, commits suicide

Tennessee Titans

A tumultuous NFL off-season got inexplicably worse this morning with news of O.J. Murdock’s suicide. The Titans wide receiver was found inside his car at 8:30 a.m. and pronounced dead two hours later. The sad discovery comes on the heels of Murdock’s strange absence from training camp. Something the team attributed to “personal reasons.”

A distraught Titans organization released this statement:

“We are shocked and saddened to hear of O.J. Murdock’s death this morning,” the Titans said in a statement released shortly after noon.

“In his brief time here, a number of our players, coaches and staff had grown close to O.J., and this is a difficult time for them. He spent the last year battling back from an Achilles’ injury as he prepared for this year’s training camp. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they try to cope with this tragedy.”

Sad.
