We’re big fans of the Lingerie Football League for obvious reasons. It’s not often that $20 gets you scantily clad women grabbing, poking and prodding each other for two hours at a time. Comparably, at the strip club, those kinds of activities would cost you a mortgage payment in the Champagne Room (trust me on that).

Despite all that, the Oklahoma City mayor has emphatically said “no” to a LFL team in his city. Because, you know, chicks in bra and panties prancing around is immoral.

Cornett told OKBlitz.com Thursday that he would not let an LFL team to play at the Cox Center or Oklahoma City Arena. Both are city-owned venues. The Lingerie League would need city council approval on several fronts before it could play in the downtown arenas.
“There are too many problems to list,” Cornett told the website. “There are so many that I don’t want to gravitate to just one.”

The Chairman of the Lingerie Football League, Mitchell S. Mortaza, responded in kind:

“Oklahomans should be provided the opportunity to choose for themselves and not dictated to,” Mortaza said in a statement. “I thought our plans were for expansion into Oklahoma City, not North Korea.”

Folks, as I’ve learned before, it’s not a real brouhaha until someone injects Kim Jong-Il into the conversation. And surely, even that old senile bastard can appreciate this kind of art.
