Olympic silver medalist Jeret “Speedy” Peterson commits suicide

Jeret “Speedy” Peterson, a silver medalist in aerials at the 2010 Vancouver games, killed himself in an isolated Utah canyon on Monday. The 29-year old had been arrested for drunk driving last Friday in Idaho and pled not guilty according to SI.

Unfortunately, the drunk driving incident was not Speedy’s first brush with the law. He was arrested in 2005 for burglary and in 2009 for public urination.
